El Chico

Had a simply fabulous trip to discover the wonderful country that is Mexico. Will be posting my travel diary pretty soon, as soon as I get time to write it all up. So much to talk about, and such an eye-opening experience. Have decided to backpack South American in November this year. Despo need to learn Spanish though; impossible to interact much with local people without Spanish; and I don't want to be just a tourist.

Anyways, have posted some of my pictures.
The digitized version of black and white was horrible. And paid $25 for that. Hava given it to be redone. Hopefully, it will be better. The print version is fine though, so come to me and checkout my album! And decided to buy a digital SLR very soon. Just makes more sense, as web publish for all anyways, and can get all SLR features with digital SLR. Still deciding between the Nikon D70 and Canon digital rebel, but leaning towards Canon due to compatibility with by existing rebel 2000 SLR lenses.

Proposal and Planning

Defended my PhD proposal today for 2 hours. Went off pretty well. Got pretty good directions too, along with what I proposed being accepted. Hopefully will be defending sometime in September. 5 years and 1 month. Then spend the next 2/3 months interning and travelling and in India, before joining job on January 2 next year. what job? Started searching some cool industry position. lets see.

And now planning for my week-long backpacking tour of Mexico starting this sunday - 15 May.
