Death penalty for juveniles
US supreme court ruled that the death penalty cannot be given to juveniles. Previously, a 16-year old could face the electric chair. US was the only country in the world, other than war-torn Somalia which allowed this. Barbaric. Maybe US is finally catching up with the rest of the world with regard to basic human rights. The judgement was passed by an astounding number 5-4. Imagine, after Bush pushes through another of his conservative judges, these sort of judgements would not come by. Scary country to live in. Need to get out as soon as possible. :-)
